A tea recipe from the book “50 ways to drink Tea”
2, 1/2 cups of fresh water
2 tsp black loose tea leaves
1 tsp of anise seeds
2 tsp cardamom seeds
2-4 tsp of white sugar
Preparation: Bring water to a boil and remove it from fire. Toss all the ingredients in a pot (except sugar and mellow dates) and pour hot water over them. Stir well and let the herbs steep for about 10 minutes, until the tea becomes strong with a dark caramel colour. Strain the mixture into a ceramic teapot.
Pour the tea into glass tea cups and serve it hot with 1-2 teaspoons of sugar in each glass!
Serve this “Arabian” tea in glass cups with mellow dates on the side! Enjoy!
